Meet the Artist
Hannah Landon is a Los Angeles–based mixed media artist whose work is rooted in experimentation, intuition, and reflection.
After earning a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University, Landon returned to Los Angeles, where she spent time digitizing and preserving her grandmother’s abstract paintings from the mid-century. Immersing herself in the work transformed her own artistic practice, encouraging her to marry narrative representation and abstraction. The experience gave her the freedom to experiment with materials, trusting them to communicate in ways that words and predetermined imagery often cannot.
Hannah first met Priscilla through the Poetry in the Park series and was immediately struck by the warmth of the community she cultivated through a shared love of poetry and expression. It was an honor for Hannah to contribute the cover artwork for this book, depicting the tree beneath which those gatherings first took place. Created with ink, water, and brush before being digitally refined in Procreate, the piece reflects the spirit of openness and curiosity that is ever present in both her artistic practice and Priscilla’s poetic community.
